Photoshop Guide

Guides are transparent lines that can be placed on the editing canvas as visual markers.
They do not appear in the final print, so they can also be used to indicate trimming or layout instructions.

  • Guide lines: Guides can be placed vertically or horizontally and used to align objects or text, or to divide an image into evenly spaced sections.
  • Not displayed in output: Guides are for workspace use only. They will not appear in the final saved file or printed output.

About Smart Guides

Recent versions of Photoshop include a feature called「Smart Guides」. When moving or transforming objects, temporary guide lines appear automatically as objects approach the edges or center of other elements, assisting with alignment. This makes it easier to confirm spacing and alignment without manually placing guides.
